Endometriosis and Kush Queen

LAra 010.JPG

Hi world, my name is Lara, and I have chronic pain. And when I say chronic, I mean this shit is chronic. I am in some form of pain every single day, but some days are more severe than others. Some days, I can’t even get out of bed, but other days you might see me hiking up a mountain. Despite the range of severity in my pain, the bottom line is that I am in some form of pain every single day. You might ask yourself, “Why is she in pain though?”  I have endometriosis and related conditions (like vaginismus and interstitial cystitis to name a few.) Endometriosis is an extremely painful condition that affects around 200 million people worldwide. Despite it being relatively common, however, there is currently no cure and very little solution offered to those of us living with it.  A lot of my pain is centralized in my abdomen/lower back/ and vagina. Some of the biggest side effects I experience on a daily basis are: nausea, trouble eating, abdominal cramping, abdominal cramping, lower back pain, painful sex, and pain with orgasm.

Over the years I have tried a lot of different things to help relieve my pain, but nothing has ever worked for me quite as well as cannabis has. I’ve gone down the surgical path, I’ve tried prescription painkillers, I’ve changed my diet approximately 2,292 times…and nothing has given me the sense of relief that I so craved.

I first discovered cannabis as a pain reliever in 2015 — I was dating someone at the time and I was having a horrible pain flare. I had never smoked weed before and he suggested I try to take a hit of his pipe because he thought it might help. I had nothing to lose, so I did it. Within minutes I experienced a sense of relaxation in my body that I had not experienced in years. After that, I began experimenting a lot more. I went to different dispensaries and talked to the people who worked there. I started reading other people’s accounts of how they used cannabis to help relieve pain, and I started trying a lot of products. I am a very lucky and privileged person to be able to not only have access to cannabis but to have the extra income to be able to afford different products to try. Which is why I am sharing the ones I have found that help me today in the hopes that they might be able to help you too.

I think it’s crucial to remind everyone that cannabis is not at all a cure for me. It is a Band-Aid over a bullet hole on my worst days — but it has also given me part of my life back in many ways. It would be extremely difficult for me to have a sex life or even EAT FOOD on a daily basis if I did not use cannabis to assist. So, without further ado, here are the products from Kush Queen that I use and love on a regular basis!

MELT

I use this shit all of the time. I specifically use it when I have bladder pain — a fun and relatively common side effect of endometriosis. If I drink caffeine or carbonated beverages, it can feel as if I have drunk acid and I will be in excruciating pain for hours. I use this lotion all over my abdomen and lower back. Not only does it give me some pain relief — it also smells fucking amazing. That’s a huge plus for me.

IGNITE

Like I mentioned earlier, I experience painful sex. I actually am not able to have penetrative sex and arousal and climax can cause shooting pains to radiate throughout my body. I have discovered that using cannabis-based lubes prior to ~getting frisky~ can help reduce the pain I experience with arousal and climax. I use the Ignite lube quite often and not only has it given me some amazing orgasms, I have less pain. A fucking win-win.

CBD JOINTS

I use a lot of CBD on a daily basis as I can’t be stoned out of my gourd at work. But I also don’t always want to be stoned out of my gourd on the weekends or evenings either, which is why I very much enjoy using the CBD joints. It gives me similar pain relief as a THC joint would, but I don’t feel nearly as high. It allows me to have an appetite and feel less pain while still being able to function.

BATH BOMB

While my pain is primarily in the lower back, abdomen, and vaginal area…sometimes my entire body just fucking hurts. On these days, there is literally nothing better than running a hot bath and using a Relieve bath bomb. It is heaven. It makes my whole body feel more at ease and relaxed and helps me have a better night’s sleep.
