Kush Queen Honors Our Favorite Stoner Baddies in Pop Culture

Kush Queen Olivia Alexander highlights her favorite women stoners

It’s National Women’s History Month, and as you can imagine, we will be celebrating all month long at Kush Queen.

Women and cannabis go way, way back - literally thousands of years. In my new book, "The Essential Guide To Cannabis For Women", I highlight a few famous females in history who helped pave the way for cannabis today.

Some individuals might consider women being open with their cannabis use a radical act, even in modern times. We don't concern ourselves with those individuals. Kush Queen salutes all women who love cannabis, and in honor of this cosmic union between woman and nature, we thought it would be fun to shout out some of our favorite female cannabis connoisseurs in pop culture.

Kacey Musgraves

Miss Musgraves has had a long journey loving the cannabis plant. And since the beginning, she's been crooning about her adoration for it very openly. Her hit “Slow Burn” has become a modern-day stoner girl anthem. Musgraves has even posted herself exploring cannabis grows and imbibing on the plant. As she sings in "Follow Your Arrow""Roll up a joint or don't / Just follow your arrow wherever it points." It's that nonjudgemental, carefree attitude that we enjoy most about Miss Musgraves and her melodic tunes.

Rihanna

No one woman has done more for women who smoke weed than Riri. From infamously rolling a blunt on her security guard's head at Coachella to giving us the most memorable vacation memes, Rihanna has always been unapologetic about her cannabis consumption. The self-proclaimed 'Bad Gal' has also given more visibility to successful women who enjoy this plant. Kush Queen will go as far as to say Rihanna remains the one celebrity whose cannabis brand WE would support. We'd probably trust the Fenty Beauty maven with our lives, too (if we're being honest). She is without a doubt the boldest Kush Queen.

Laganja Estranja

Laganja Estranja is an L.A.-based drag star and cannabis rights activist. Long before legal weed was considered 'cool', she was repping cannabis, both on-and-off stage. A true trailblazer, Miss Estranja puts the plant first in so much of what she does. Estranja has spoken out several times on the stigma she has faced as a pro-cannabis drag queen and from the cannabis community itself; she recently came out as a proud trans woman. For us at Kush Queen, Laganja Estranja remains the most SICKENING woman who loves cannabis, and we LIVE for her content on social media

Rachel Wolfson

It's no surprise that Rachel Wolfson lands on a list celebrating our favorite women who love cannabis. Our resident Kush Queen and BFF, it's safe to say Wolfson and weed are soulmates. Wolfson has long been a cannabis advocate and represented women who love this plant. She's also used her platform in stand-up comedy to normalize cannabis and the people who work in it. As the first woman invited to join the JACKASS crew, she’s bravely broken the glass ceiling in a boy's only club. From weed memes to hosting her podcast about cannabis and mental health, just like Merry Jane said back in 2017 “(Wolfson) is the ultimate millennial stoner girl”.

If you’re a woman who loves cannabis, we see you. At Kush Queen, celebrating women doesn’t happen just once a year, it’s a daily vibe. Follow us for more cannabis and women empowerment!
